Fashion tech and new materials: testimony at the Polytechnic University of MilanAnna Dotti was born in Milan on March 9, 1997. She attended Giovanni Berchet Classical High School, graduating with honors in 2016. Despite her great passion for culture and classical languages, she continued her education in the scientific-technological field.
Thanks to reading "How small the world is" (G. Pacchioni), she becomes passionate about nanotechnologies, particularly interested in their application in the environmental field. She then enrolls in Materials and Nanotechnology Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where she graduates with top honors in 2019, with a thesis on the synthesis of MOFs (metal-organic frameworks).
In December 2021, he/she obtained a master's degree with honors in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology, specialization in Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology (Politecnico di Milano), with an experimental thesis on the synthesis and characterization of materials based on nanocellulose and silver nanoparticles, capable of removing heavy metals from water.
During 2022, she works for Chimet S.p.A. on the development of a methodology for large-scale production of silver powders. Since November 2022, she is a Ph.D. student in Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where she studies innovative nanomaterials for water decontamination.
In her free time, she practices dance and slow tourism.
