Specialist in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, he completed his training in thoracic surgery at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and, in Paris, at the Mutualiste Montsouris Institute.

She was also a Visiting Physician at Cornell University in New York, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Since April 2015, he has been the Head of the Robotic Surgery Unit at the Division of Thoracic Surgery and General Surgery at the Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan.

Previously, between 2009 and 2015, she was in charge of Prevention and Early Diagnosis at the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology and, since 2006, she has developed a robotic surgery program for thoracic diseases, performing more than 310 robotic surgical procedures at the European Institute of Oncology and the Humanitas Clinical Institute.

He also held the position of Robotic Surgery Proctor at the University Hospital of Geneva and in various Italian centers and has coordinated, since 2004, an extensive lung cancer program (COSMOS 1 and 2) with spiral CT and molecular markers.

She has been assigned the role of principal investigator for two drug prevention studies, funded by the American National Cancer Institute, aimed at evaluating the role of Budesonide via inhalation and the role of Aspirin orally in reducing pre-tumoral lung nodules detected with screening CT.

Founding member of the scientific society Clinical Robotic Surgical Association and member of the Prevention/Early Detection Committee of the International Association on Study of Lung Cancer, he is also an active member of various scientific societies including the European Society of Medical Oncology and the European Society of Thoracic Surgery.

He has published more than 168 articles in international journals and given 90 presentations as an invited speaker at various conferences around the world.
