Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering (University of Cagliari) and currently pursuing a Master's degree in Bioengineering - Cells, Tissues, and Devices (University of Pavia).

My name is Carla, I am 25 years old, graduated in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cagliari and currently attending a Master's degree in Bioengineering at the University of Pavia. Since the conclusion of my scientific high school diploma, I have asked myself the classic question: what do I want to do "when I grow up"? In response to this difficult question, I decided to combine my great passion for the human body and the unstoppable curiosity that distinguishes me, choosing to pursue an engineering career.

I have decided to focus this latter in the biomedical field, and in particular cardiovascular, as I wish to develop systems that can contribute to the prevention and treatment of patients. In parallel with biomedical studies, I have developed a strong interest in cars and engine mechanics, noticing parallels between the functioning of vehicles and the human body: I like to look for inspiration in classical mechanics to explore the complex mechanisms that govern the human body. In my life vision, I avoid setting rigid goals as I believe they can limit opportunities. I prefer to have a flexible goal, inspired by the context in which I live. However, one aspect on which I am certain is my pursuit of professional satisfaction.

I hope to look back on the past with satisfaction, recognizing that I have traveled a path that has fulfilled me, contributing to the well-being of people and allowing them to have a life worthy of being lived. In addition, I have a small dream in the drawer: to return to my homeland and create a biomedical center in Sardinia. I dream of creating a functional and versatile research center that offers opportunities to young people forced to emigrate due to the lack of resources on the island. I hope that one day many of them can return home to pursue the work of their dreams.
