Barbara Alemanni is Affiliate Professor of Banking and Insurance at SDA Bocconi School of Management. Since January 2018, she has been appointed as Banking & Insurance Faculty Deputy. She is a Full Professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries at the University of Genoa.
At SDA Bocconi, she was an official instructor in the CEGA and EMBA Master's programs (2007-2015) and in the MBA Master's program until 2005. She has conducted workshops and consulting projects in the financial sector in Europe and Asia, especially with major representatives of the banking and financial industry and with domestic and international public entities.
Her research focuses on asset management; alternative investments; behavioral finance; microstructure of securities markets; macrostructure and regulation of securities markets. .
Author of numerous essays and articles on the topics she deals with. Her works have been published by leading international and domestic publishers (Kluwer, Oxford University Press, Il Mulino, Egea, ABI Editrice) and in important journals such as Bancaria, Banca e Banchieri, Impresa e progetto, European Journal of Finance, and Working paper CAREFIN. She is on the editorial board of the journals Finanza, marketing, produzione, Forum Bancaria, and Economia&Management. She has been appointed to the ESMA Economic Advisors group. She is a member of the board of directors of the University of Genoa and the Italian Stock Exchange; she is also a scientific consultant for MFOP on behavioral pension issues.
Barbara obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University, an MSc in Finance from City University Business School, and an ITP (International Teachers Programme) in Aix-en-Provence.
