President of the International MITO Settembre Musica Festival
Anna Gastel, born in Milan in 1953, graduated in 1977 from the Catholic University of Milan in literature and philosophy with an artistic focus. Selected for the first course established by the English auction house Christie's in the history of antiquities, she was then hired at the London headquarters; after four years she moved to the Rome office and became the first female auctioneer in the history of the oldest auction house in the world.
She has also worked on over 60 exhibition catalogs and numerous other publications; she has had dealings with the most renowned art historians.
In 2006 she began collaborating with FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano; in 2008 she became a Board Member and was appointed President of FAI Lombardia; in 2009 she also became a member of the Executive Committee; between 2010 and 2012 she conceived and built "FAIGiovani"; in 2011 she contributed to the foundation of FAI Swiss, of which she became a Board Member; in 2013 she was appointed National Vice President of FAI and left the Presidency of FAI Lombardia after increasing the Lombard members from 13,000 to 38,000.
In 2015, he resigned from the Board of Directors as National Vice President of FAI, as a Counselor, and as a member of the Executive Committee.
Since December 2015, he has been President of the International Festival MITO Settembre Musica, the largest Italian classical music festival.
