"Enhancing female talent in the fields of research, technological development, and innovation" is the goal of the International Conference "Women&Technologies® 2008-2015".

The 2012 Conference that will take place on November 6th in Milan, will be focused on the central theme of the upcoming Expo 2015: Nutrition.

Born in 2007 from an idea of Gianna Martinengo, who has made the relationship between technologies and innovation one of the main themes of her professional life as a researcher and entrepreneur, it has achieved important milestones of consensus from personalities in the scientific, academic, political, institutional and entrepreneurial world, for having been able to bring together major current topics within an annual event that is a successful and influential gathering in the international scientific landscape.

In this first event of the three-year period dedicated to food , the debate will open on a topic closely related to health , sustainability and innovation through the articulation of three round tables in which numerous personalities from the scientific, institutional, and entrepreneurial worlds will confront each other with the aim of providing a complete vision to the end consumer, of what the new frontiers of food are, the sustainability models of the supply chain and the enhancement of the territory and the best practices for transparent and usable information.
The round tables will be coordinated by Lucilla Titta- IEO, Patrizia Riso - DeFENS University of Milan, and Gianluca Carenzo- Parco Tecnologico Padano.

The Conference will be opened by a prestigious guest speaker, Paolo De Castro (President of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety of the European Parliament), and greetings from Carlo Sangalli (President of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan hosting and supporting the Conference), Claudia Sorlini (DeFENS and President of the Strategic Committee of the Conference), and Gianna Martinengo (Founder and Chairperson of Women&Technologies®).

Participation in the Conference is free and the start of the event is scheduled for 9:00 on November 6, 2012 at the Conference Room of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan located at via Meravigli 9/B.

At the end of the round tables scheduled for 5:30 pm, the award ceremony for "The Technovisionaries®" 2012 will take place, an award for women capable of "inventing the future" through an innovative, sustainable, and ethical vision. The awards for the 2012 edition are 7 and are divided into three thematic categories ( Women Health, Women Sustainability, and Women Innovation), three recurring categories ( Women Media, Women Territory, and Women CEO), and a special award for young researchers in the food sector, Women Future. The award ceremony will be hosted by Rita Querzè, a journalist from Corriere della Sera.
