Donne, lavoro, tecnologia e intelligenza artificiale. Verso più uguaglianza e libertà

The meeting organized by Women&Tech ® ETS for March 12 at Studio Volvo wants to focus on work. However, it has chosen to do so from two different perspectives, even if partially overlapping. The first is that of women and their challenge to fully occupy the space that belongs to them. The second is that of technologies and their rapid investment in content and organizational methods.

Two essays are compared. The first is Women and work. Revolution in six steps, Post Editori, by Rita Querzè. As Maurizio Ferrera says in his preface to the book, "with her clear and documented articles in Corriere, Rita Querzè is one of the few voices capable of illustrating and explaining the many contradictions of the Italian labor market and in particular the burning issue of female employment." After many years of journalistic work in information and documentation, Rita decides to give us a text that aims to accompany the battle of women for self-realization, with precise analysis, many testimonies, and clear proposals. Proposals aimed at policymakers, but also at female and male workers, on how to overcome the aspects of women's work that still await solutions: motherhood, sharing of care, career discrimination, wage gaps, job marginalization and precariousness, and the difficulties of being entrepreneurs.

The second is Work, technology, and freedom. Time and space of work in the era of artificial intelligence, Guerini Next, by Anna Maria Ponzellini, sociologist and organization expert, who has been at the forefront of work-life balance and, more broadly, improving the quality of work for thirty years. Here the focus is primarily on technologies and their transformation of working methods along two crucial parameters of work organization, that of "where" and "when" to work. ICT, digital technologies, and AI allow remote work and the reduction and de-standardization of hours, with enormous benefits for people's well-being. But the new organizational formulas, in turn, push towards humanization and liberation of work not only from time and space constraints but also from hierarchy constraints, allowing greater autonomy and accountability.

Both volumes lend themselves to a reflection on women's work, which we want to celebrate like every March 8th . A work that is both more equal and more free. A work supported by friendly technologies. A challenge that should not see women alone.

The event will take place on March 12, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, at Volvo Studio (viale della Liberazione corner of Via Melchiorre Gioia), in Milan.

After the introductory greetings by Chiara Angeli (Sales & Marketing Director, Volvo Car Italia), Gianna Martinengo (President of Women&Tech® ETS and CEO DKTS) will introduce the proceedings with a brief reflection on the role of AI in the future of work, followed by the intervention of Simona Tironi (Councillor for Education, Training, and Employment of the Lombardy Region).

Valentina Goglio (Scientific Committee of Women&Tech® ETS) introduces and moderates the Round Table, which will be attended by Cristina Tajani (Senator of the Republic and expert in labor policies), Clara Bez (HR Director of Kelly Italy, part of GI Group Holding), and the two Authors, Rita Querzè and Anna M. Ponzellini. Q&A will follow with the audience present in the room.

At 7:30 pm, a networking aperitif will follow.
