International Award "The Technovisionaries" 2015 (Expo Women Global Forum)

The International Award "The Technovisionaries®", an integral part of the Expo Women Global Forum schedule, is awarded every year to women who have demonstrated vision in their professional activities, prioritizing social impact, transparency in behavior, and ethics. They are "The Technovisionaries" in the fields of research, innovation, and business.

The award, created by Gianna Martinengo in 2008 to make visible women who with their work in business, academia, research, public administration, and the media have contributed to inventing the future and have testified to having vision, prioritizing social impact, transparency in behavior, and ethics, reaches its eighth edition this year.

This recognition, previously aimed at women who have distinguished themselves in the fields of bio and nanotechnologies, neuroscience, and ICT, since 2012 has also focused on the themes of food and nutrition, health, and sustainability, rewarding women promoters of the new frontiers of nutrition, innovative sustainability models, and territorial enhancement.

There are 50 women awarded from 2008 to 2014. ; 37 important figures from the world of culture, research, public administration, and business were involved in the award ceremony, and journalists from the main Italian newspapers conducted the award ceremony.

The Jury is composed of qualified representatives from the thematic areas of the different competition categories, from the world of culture and communication.

The submissions for the VIII edition 2015 of the Award can be sent online on the website www.womentech.eu by April 3, 2015. Among the received nominations, a selection of finalists will be chosen to compete for the various titles at stake:

Thematic Press

Women Health: award aimed at women who have dedicated their passion and professionalism to the complex relationship between Nutrition and Health.

Women Sustainability: rewards women who have dedicated their work to the theme of Sustainability (environmental, social, cultural).

Women Innovation: aimed at women engaged in technological and social innovation.

Recurring Awards

Women Media: this award is intended for journalists committed to highlighting the contribution of women to society.

Women Territory: intended for women who have promoted business models aimed at enhancing their own territory.

Women CEO: aimed at women who have reached top positions in important companies, thanks to their entrepreneurial and managerial skills.

Women Future: destined for young researchers in the field of nutrition and sustainability.

Special European Award

Intended for personalities who have contributed to the evolution of the social role of women in Italy, in Europe, and around the world.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 6 at the National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" in Milan (here you can find all the useful information to reach the location). The ceremony, by invitation, will see the participation of business decision-makers, university representatives, public administration officials, and personalities from the scientific and media world.

The Technovisionaries will be given a canvas from the ANITA collection, dedicated to women who have been able to combine "heart and invention" achieving prestigious goals in the service of others, specially created for the award by Carlotta Todeschini.

Promoter

The Women and Technology Association was founded in 2009 from an idea of Gianna Martinengo , shared by a network of companies and individuals who offer their skills to achieve its mission. Enhancing female talent in technology, innovation, and scientific research, promoting projects and actions aimed at fighting stereotypes and gender discrimination, contributing to guiding young people towards future professions and sustainable entrepreneurial models, are the objectives of the Association.
  • We develop projects : From 2009 to today, the Association has conceived and implemented 15 projects in partnership with private and public entities such as the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Education, University and Research, Lombardy Region, Province of Milan, Milan Chamber of Commerce.
  • Promoting the sharing and exchange of experiences and skills in the following areas: technology, scientific research, innovation, business, gender gap, diversity.
  • Let's network . The Association is open to all those who wish to contribute voluntarily and directly to the shared objectives. It is permeated by the principles of innovation in all its components, starting from the members (women and men) who have diverse professional experiences and represent excellence in various reference sectors.
Since its foundation, the Women and Technology Association has been registered in the regional register of associations, movements, and female organizations in Lombardy.

Summary of the evening and award ceremony for Annamaria Testa , WomenSustainability Award winner with the following motivation: "Creator of 'technovisionary' advertising campaigns ahead of their time, which have marked the history of communication. Annamaria Testa has been involved for years in projects that combine knowledge and access to knowledge. In 2003, she made pediatric first aid understandable with a video (updated in 2014) that saved numerous lives. In 2008, she launched Nuovo e Utile, a non-profit website for the dissemination of creativity theories and practices."
