Hybrid Event We are pleased to invite you to participate in the book presentation event "Women in Science: The Long Road to Equality", written by Maria Pia Abbracchio and Marilisa D'Amico. This event, promoted by Women&Tech® ETS, is part of the events of the "T-Essere" project and will take place on January 17, 2024 at 6:00 PM at OPEN in Viale Monte Nero 6 in Milan. The event will provide a platform to explore and discuss the themes addressed in the book, which deeply and sensitively addresses the role of women in the world of science. The authors, through a historical and personal journey, highlight the challenges, discriminations, and prejudices that women scientists have faced and continue to face in their professional path. Maria Pia Abbracchio, Vice Rector responsible for Research and Innovation and Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milan "La Statale" and Vice President of Fondazione Unimi, and Marilisa D'Amico, Full Professor of Constitutional Law and Constitutional Justice at the University of Milan and Vice Rector responsible for Legality, Transparency, and Equality of Rights, will share their experiences and reflections, offering valuable insights and inspiration. Moderated by Maria Letizia Giorgetti, Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods of the University of Milan. Gianna Martinengo, President of Women&Tech® ETS, will give the welcoming remarks. The event will also be an opportunity to listen to direct testimonies and discuss future opportunities for women in the field of science, especially in light of recent initiatives such as the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
