Graduated with honors from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1998, she obtained her PhD from the University of Padua in 2004. She has been a visiting scholar at various universities in Europe and the United States, including: Freie University, Berlin, University of Cordoba, Spain, University of Stockholm, University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford University. In 2004, she was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, working on a research program on subjective and psychological well-being throughout the lifespan.

Patrizia Steca is currently a Full Professor of General Psychology at the Department of Psychology of the University of Milan-Bicocca, where she holds the position of President of the Single Guarantee Committee (CUG). At the same University, she was President of the Degree Course in Psychosocial Sciences of Communication and a member of the Board of Directors.

He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the master's degree 'Food and Society', of the advanced training course 'Gender, Politics and Institutions', and of EFFE, a multidisciplinary project for Female Empowerment for a Fairer Future.

She is the point of reference for Milan-Bicocca in the areas of Education and Inclusion and Social Justice within the RUS (Network of Sustainable Universities), a member of BASE, Bicocca Environment Society Economy, and departmental contact in the Research Center Best4Food.

Her research interests focus on the study of motivation and personality, applied specifically to the promotion of healthy and sustainable lifestyles. On these topics, she is the Principal Investigator of numerous national and international projects. As head of the laboratory in Psychology and Communication for Health, she is the author of over 150 publications in scientific journals and texts distributed nationally and internationally.
