Paola Rodari has thirty years of experience in the field of public communication of science, particularly in the design and implementation of science and technology exhibitions and museums.

She began working on next-generation science museums, under the direction of theoretical physicist Paolo Budinich, on the design and creation of the ’Immaginario Scientifico in Trieste (first exhibition as a temporary show in Paris in 1987), of which she was then responsible for educational services for ten years. She later worked, among other things, on the creation of the Museo del Balì – Planetarium and interactive science museum in the Marche region, Infini-to – Planetarium and Astronomy Museum in Turin and the 10lab – Interactive Science and Innovation Center of Sardegna Ricerche, of which she is still today the Scientific Manager. She also collaborated on the design of the MUSE, Science Museum in Trento.

He has participated in several European and international projects in the field of informal education and Public Engagement in Science and Technology. He coordinated the project DOTIK (SISSA, Trieste, Italy; Hisa Eksperimentov in Ljubljana, Slovenia; At-Bristol, Bristol, UK), the first European project for the international training of science animators, i.e. museum staff (but also festival or open day staff) in direct contact with the public. From this experience, THE Group was born in 2009, the interest group on scientific animation of ECSITE, the association of European science centers, of which he was the first spokesperson.

Teaches Museology at the Master's in Science Communication at SISSA in Trieste and at SISBA, Interuniversity School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage of the Universities of Trieste, Udine, and Venice. With Matteo Merzagora, he wrote "La scienza in mostra. Musei, science centre, comunicazione", PBM, 2007. Other writings have been published in Italian, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Today is the Programme Manager of the Science Festival that in 2020 will accompany the Euroscience Open Forum in Trieste European City of Science (scienceinthecity2020.eu).
