Nadia Zaffaroni graduated with honors in Biological Sciences from the University of Milan in 1980 and obtained her PhD in 1990 from the same University.
He is responsible for the "Molecular Pharmacology" Unit of the Department of Experimental Oncology at the IRCCS National Cancer Institute in Milan.
From 2006 to 2009 she was the president of the "Pharmacology and Molecular Mechanisms" group of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC).
Her main area of research focuses on translational research and is centered on the identification and validation of new therapeutic targets and the development of innovative therapeutic approaches. In this context, her research group has acquired recognized expertise in the development of gene silencing approaches targeting the survival factors of tumor cells and in the development of strategies for intracellular administration of these molecules.
More recently, she has focused on the expression and functional role of microRNAs in human tumors, with the goal of identifying new biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
He has published 129 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals.
