Monica Rancati joined Microsoft in 2012 as HR Lead for Western Europe, a Multi Sub Area which includes small and medium-sized Western European countries.
She has end-to-end accountability and responsibility for the design and implementation of the HR strategy for the area, including talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, M&A within Microsoft Sales Marketing and Services Group, as well as its Development Organization. She leads a team of senior managers and works closely with the Area Corporate Vice President to support organizational design and development in line with the business priorities of the company in our territory. She guides her team to continuously enhance practices in talent management, succession planning for senior leadership positions, diversity and inclusion, change management, business and HR transformation through a proactive and predictive approach to HR across the area. Additionally, in her role, Monica has partnered with HR leaders in the organization to support the transformation of the HR function, aimed at delivering greater business impact and providing valuable insights for managers and employees.
Monica is a key advocate and contributor to the Diversity & Inclusion strategy for the Western Europe Area, which is focused on creating a more inclusive culture, recruiting and retaining diverse talents, and empowering people to achieve more. She is a member of the scientific committee of the Winning Women Institute, focused on gender equality in the workplace.
Monica is a senior human resources leader with extensive experience working in countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She joined Microsoft from EMC, where she oversaw HR for EMC's "EMEA South" hub – an international region covering 20 countries across EMEA. Monica held various assignments during her 10-year tenure at EMC, both in line HR roles and COE functions. Prior to EMC, Monica worked in HR at Data General. She holds a degree in Business & Management from Pavia University.
