Graduated from the University of Milan in 1978, she has been throughout her career Director of the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Environment Sciences at the University of Milan, Member of the Teaching Board of the Ph.D. in Food System at the University of Milan, Member of the Board of Directors of FENS (Federation of European Nutrition Societies), President of the Ph.D. School in Molecular Sciences and Agricultural, Food and Environmental Biotechnologies, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Milan, Director of the Department of Food and Microbiological Technologies at the University of Milan, Member of the Editorial Board of the journal Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Disease (Elsevier), Vice President of the Italian Society of Human Nutrition (SINU), and President of the Didactic Coordination Council of the Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology and the Master's degree in Quality and Safety of Human Nutrition.
