Donne in SaluteMarina Carini (Pharmacy degree, 1979) is Vice-Rector delegated to the third mission, territory and cultural activities, full professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry since 2001 (Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Milan), former Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Director of the post-graduate Specialization School in Cosmetic Science and Technology (2001-2005). Coordinator of post-graduate Advanced Courses in Cosmetic Sciences (from 2005 to date) and in Cosmetic Products: from formulation to consumer (since 2016).
PhD Coordinator in Drug Chemistry (2005-2008) and Pharmaceutical Sciences (2012-2015). Responsible for research units in projects funded by MIUR (COFIN 2003 and 2005; Lombardy Biotechnology Fund 2005) and Cariverona Foundation (Fund 2008). In 2003 winner of the Sapio award for Italian Research: thematic ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES FOR RESEARCH. In 2016 co-investigator in a European project funded under the Horizon 2020 programs (MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE ACTIONS: Innovative Training Networks (ITN)- European Joint Doctorate.
Research activity, initially dedicated to studies on drug metabolism and the evaluation of the potential of mass spectrometry techniques in the analytical/bioanalytical/toxicological field, has then focused on the following topics: a) Bioanalytical methodologies for the in vitro and in vivo study of oxidative processes induced by free radicals; b) Peptidomics and proteomics in mass spectrometry: study of detoxification processes of cytotoxic aldehydes by peptides, characterization of covalently modified proteins and ligand-protein interactions. The scientific activity has resulted in the publication of 179 experimental papers (169 in peer-reviewed international journals and 10 contributions in volumes), 5 patents and over 250 communications/posters at national and international conferences. H index according to Scopus (total publications after 1995) = 43
