Lucia Monaco

Lucia Monaco graduated in Chemistry from the University of Pavia in 1979 and received training in biochemistry at the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa City and in molecular biology at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg.

She conducted research at the Molecular Biology Laboratory of Farmitalia Carlo Erba in Milan and at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, where she became head of the Biotechnology Unit.

Since 2001, she has been working at the Telethon Scientific Office in Milan, where she was in charge of the Study Center. She has been the Scientific Director of Telethon since 2008.
