In 1996, he obtained a doctorate from the Polytechnic University of Milan, discussing the thesis entitled "Methodologies for theoretical and experimental analysis of the energy behavior of three-phase systems in the presence of deformations, imbalances, and asymmetries". From February 1997 to January 1999, he worked at Italtel in the Business Unit of switching energy systems. From February 1999 to November 2005, he served as a researcher for the SSD ING-INF/07, at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Since November 2005, he has been an associate professor for the same Department and the same scientific disciplinary sector. He is a member of Anipla, having previously been part of the Board of Directors and participated in the organization of the course "Internet and Intranet for automation" (May 2001) and two study days: "Automation for the new electricity market" (September 2001) and "The measurement, control, and documentation of failures in the supply of electricity (regulations, technologies, and applications)" (February 2002). Since 2006, he is a Senior Member of IEEE and Counselor for the IEEE Student Branch at the Polytechnic. Since 2007, he has been a part of the Scientific Council of the Meteorological Observatory of Milan Duomo and the technical committee 56 of the CEI.
