Clinical and scientific activity

In November 2003, he won a competition for a university researcher in medical genetics (MED/03) at the University of Padua, and began his service on 1-1-2005.

The clinical activity took place at the Clinical Genetics service of the University-Hospital of Padua. He is the head of the prenatal and postnatal genetic counseling clinic.

The research activity has focused on the molecular bases and pathophysiology of neurometabolic diseases, in particular defects in the mitochondrial respiratory chain and urea cycle. He is the author of over 60 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, with a total impact factor of approximately 340 points. He has obtained funding from national agencies (Telethon, CARIPARO) and international ones (AFM and European Union) for more than one million euros.
