Elected as a Member of the European Parliament in May 2019, Irene Tinagli is currently the President of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament. 

From 2013 to 2018, she was a member of the Chamber of Deputies, where she dealt with issues related to work, social security, and the relationship between innovation and work.

Before engaging in politics, he taught Business Economics at the Carlos III University of Madrid.

After a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Milan, a Master of Science in Public Policy and a PhD in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh specializing in Innovation Economics, Irene Tinagli taught Management and Organizational Design at Carlos III University in Madrid.

In addition to her academic work, she was an opinion writer for the newspaper La Stampa and a consultant for various international organizations for many years. Specifically, she was a consultant for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs on E-Government and Knowledge Economy issues, and for the European Commission.

In Italy, she collaborated with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Education, the Department of Innovation of the Presidency of the Council, and the Ministry of Justice. In 2010, she was appointed a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and in 2012 a Young European Leader.

In 2013, she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies where she focused on Labor and Welfare issues for five years, with particular attention to the relationship between new technologies and employment.

In 2019, she was elected to the European Parliament where she currently holds the position of President of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.

He has published three books:
