Gianluca Carenzo is a Technology Transfer for HIT (Hub Innovation Trentino), a consortium and non-profit company that promotes research and innovation results in the Trentino system to support the local economy's development. The mission is to support scientific research results through technology transfer activities to private companies and investors, as well as to support stakeholders and companies in innovation processes and internationalization in national and European networks (e.g., Cluster Technologies, KIC, Technology Platforms).

He was the Executive Director of Parco Tecnologico Padano, a science and technology park and cluster management organization in the agro-biotechnology sector promoted in Lodi (Milan area) by Regione Lombardia and local institutions.

Born in 1972, after an experience in Regione Lombardia-COR for the set up of a network of research centres in 1999, Gianluca Carenzo joined Biopolo Milano, a leading technology transfer agency in Italy for consultancy in the biotechnology sector. In 2003 he was hired as Project manager in Parco Tecnologico Padano. Since January 2008 he has been the Executive director. Gianluca Carenzo is also currently running an incubator program for innovative start-ups in the agrofood & health sector, namely ALIMENTA and is a member of the board of start-up companies.

Gianluca Carenzo is an expert in consulting for the selection of funding opportunities for innovative SMEs, technical assistance in the due diligence finance process, business planning consulting, and cluster management and cooperation.

Since 2004, I have been a member of the working groups in ASSOBIOTEC, the Italian association of biotech industries, affiliated with Confindustria. Since 2010, I have been the coordinator of the national working group on Industrial Biotechnology.

Since 2012 Gianluca is also a member of the board of directors of APSTI, the Italian Association of Science Parks.

Gianluca Carenzo is also an expert in cluster management and was the coordinator of the "ABC network project, a network of European agro-biotech clusters", project funded under the first Europe Innova call 2006-2008 (www.europe-innova.org)
