Daniela Trabattoni

Director of Women's Heart Center Interventional Cardiology Unit 3, Centro Cardiologico Monzino

Curriculum

After obtaining a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1992, he specialized in Cardiology at the University of Milan in 1997. In the period 1997-1998, he completed a Fellowship in Intracoronary Imaging at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Since 1998, he has been attending the Monzino Cardiology Center as an assistant physician in the Interventional Cardiology Unit where he became a Senior Assistant in 2008 and a Referring Physician in 2014. In January 2017, he established the Women Heart Center for cardiovascular prevention in women at the Monzino Cardiology Center and since October 2017, he has been directing the Invasive Cardiology Operational Unit 3 at the same Institute.

He is a tutor for students in the Medicine and Surgery course - University of Milan.

Teacher at the Specialization School in Cardiovascular Pathologies at the University of Milan.

She was appointed as a member of the commission for the evaluation of cardiovascular devices at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (2011) and as a member of the Commission of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (2018) for the drafting of the ministerial document for the implementation and dissemination of Gender Medicine (in implementation of Article 3, paragraph 1, Law 3/2018).

Scientific Results

Daniela Trabattoni's research activity focuses mainly on the field of Interventional Cardiology, investigating the factors that can influence the outcome of coronary revascularization based on the use of different types of coronary stents, also focusing on gender-based analysis. She has deepened the effects of cardioprotective therapies used during acute myocardial infarction as adjuvants to primary angioplasty in the functional recovery of the left ventricle. She has explored the potential correlations between patent foramen ovale and migraines and conducted comparative analyses between different occlusive devices for the percutaneous correction of PFO. She worked on drafting the consensus document of the Society of Invasive Cardiology for the management of antiplatelet therapy in patients undergoing coronary revascularization and directed to urgent or elective surgery. She conducted studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of short-duration antiplatelet treatment after implantation of medicated or drug-coated coronary stents in patients at high risk of bleeding.

He has participated in numerous international projects.

  • Acute and 30-day outcomes in women after TAVR: Results from the WIN-TAVI (Women’s International Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) Real World Registry. JACC Cardiovasc Interv . 2016
  • Perioperative management of antiplatelet therapy in patients with coronary stents undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac surgery: a consensus document from Italian cardiological, surgical, and anesthesiological societies. Eurointervention, 2014;
  • Acute procedural and six-month clinical outcome in patients treated with a dedicated bifurcation stent for left main stem disease: the TRYTON LM multicentre registry. EuroIntervention, 2013.
