Cristina Magnoni

Professor of Clinical Dermatology at the University of Modena.

Curriculum

Cristina Magnoni graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Modena with 110/110 cum laude points in July 1991. From January to December 1995, she worked as a Visiting Research Fellow at the laboratories of the Department of Dermatology at Boston University-School of Medicine, Boston USA. She obtained the specialization in Dermatology and Venereology in November 1995 with 50/50 points.

She obtained the title of Doctor of Research in Dermatological Immunology in December 1998. She won a competition for University Researcher and from November 1, 2000 to November 2006 she held the position of University Researcher-MED/35-Skin and Venereal Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in Modena. Since December 2006, she has been an Associate Professor - MED/35 - Skin and Venereal Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in Modena.

Professor Magnoni's main fields of scientific interest are cutaneous oncology and regenerative medicine. The scientific project in which she is mainly involved concerns the isolation and characterization of mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue to be used in dermal regeneration.

His clinical activity takes place in the Dermatological Surgery Section for which he is responsible, where he performs daily oncologic resection surgeries, post-oncologic reconstructions, dermoepidermal grafts or with dermal substitutes, and selective lymphadenectomies for the search of the sentinel lymph node in Melanoma. Additionally, he coordinates a multidisciplinary surgical team, collaborating with maxillofacial, vascular, and orthopedic surgeons for complex surgical reconstructions.
