Innovation Tram 2023 in the metaverseClaudio Farina, born in 1975, has been with Snam since 2017, serving as Executive Vice President of Strategy, Innovation & Sustainability, with responsibilities including guiding corporate strategy, technological roadmap, and ESG strategy. He also holds the position of Executive Vice President of Technologies and Industrial Innovation.
Previously, he was in charge of the CEO Office team, leading cross-functional projects in operational improvement, start-ups and scale-ups of new businesses, and supporting the CEO, and Senior Vice President Planning and Control BU Asset Italy with responsibilities for planning and controlling investments and operational costs of Italian assets.
Before joining Snam, he held various positions at Vodafone Italia for 9 years, including Head of Financial Planning, Analysis & Business Intelligence and Head of Strategy, responsible for leading strategic projects for the CEO, including 4G frequency auction, investments to reduce the digital divide, fiber strategy, M&A, strategic partnerships.
From 2000 to 2008, he held various roles at The Boston Consulting Group, up to Principal, with cross-sector experience in Infrastructure, Energy, Public Transport, Telecommunications, and IT, with 25 projects, including Strategic Plans, extraordinary finance operations, and Development Strategy in infrastructure.
In 1999, he was a Researcher on industrial policy topics supporting technological innovation at the German Institute of Economic Research in Berlin.
He specializes in Industrial Economics with a degree in Political Economy from the Catholic University. He later obtained a post-graduate master's degree in Economics from Bocconi University. Passionate about start-up seeding, he is an alumnus of the Aspen Institute, after having been a Junior Fellow from 2008 to 2010.
