University of Milan Bicocca and 'Gender Cultures' Center
He is a full professor of Sociology of Culture at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Milan-Bicocca and scientific coordinator of the PhD program in Applied Sociology and Social Research Methodology. Formerly pro-rector for gender issues and equal opportunities, he directed (2008-2014) the Interdepartmental Center for the study of gender issues ABCD at the University of Milan-Bicocca. Currently, at this University, she is the scientific coordinator of the Interuniversity Research Center 'Gender Cultures', which networks six Milanese Universities.
His scientific interests are related to the analysis of processes of social and cultural change. In this context, he has conducted research on gender and generational differences, youth cultures, and more generally on the transformations of cultural models and the experience of time. He has also deepened, from a sociological perspective, the transformations of the dimension of responsibility in contemporary cultural scenarios. In terms of research methods, he has dedicated specific attention to qualitative approaches, particularly those of a hermeneutic nature. Currently the President of the European Sociological Association, he was Vice President for Europe of the Research Committee 'Sociology of Youth' of the International Sociological Association (2006-2010).
