Curriculum

Carlotta Sami, from Milan, 43 years old, has been working in the field of human rights and humanitarian interventions for over 15 years. Since January 2014, she has been the spokesperson for Southern Europe at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Previously, she was the general director of Amnesty International in Italy and for ten years she worked in humanitarian operations in major crisis areas with Save the Children International. From 1998 to 2002, she worked in the Palestinian Territories, between Bethlehem and Hebron, assisting in Palestinian refugee camps and coordinating various emergency interventions. She holds a Ph.D. in General Theory of Law and a degree in Law. She is married and the mother of a 7-year-old girl, Matilde.
