Women&Tech® Young AmbassadorsMy name is Anna, I am 24 years old and I have been living in Switzerland for three years. I graduated in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Zurich and Lausanne. Currently, I am a doctoral student at the Polytechnic University of Zurich, my project aims to use Artificial Intelligence to assess the risk and stability of energy systems.
I have been passionate about scientific subjects since I was a child, and in middle school I was completely fascinated by nuclear energy. However, I would have never expected to be where I am now. I am a curious person and I enjoy challenges.
At just 17 years old, I studied in Vancouver, Canada for a year and after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Turin in Physical Engineering, I moved to Switzerland. I studied at the Polytechnic University of Lausanne, Zurich, and at the PSI research center. Here, I was fortunate enough to immerse myself in a very stimulating and inclusive scientific world.
During my last year of university, I used nuclear techniques to fight cancer and studied how nuclear energy can help make the world's energy more sustainable.
I have many passions outside of study and work, but Dancing is definitely what I love to do in my free time.
I would like to use my voice and ideas to break prejudices. In fact, my goal is to contribute to combating climate change with innovative technologies that work in a complementary way. Today, we have powerful technological tools at our disposal. I believe in the role of technology and innovation as a means of growth and motivation.
As my great idol Marie Skłodowska Curie once said:
"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood."
