Curriculum

Born in Parma on November 26, 1951, he graduated in Law. He is the owner of a business consulting firm specializing in corporate strategies.

He was a councilor of AIDA (1992-1998), a member of the Chamber Board since 1987, and since 1999 he has been President of the Chamber of Commerce of Parma. He has also been President from 2003 to 2011 of Unioncamere Emilia Romagna, of Parma Alimentare (1999-), of the European College of Parma Foundation (2010-), and is a Councilor and member of the Executive Committee of Unioncamere (1999-) and of the International Chamber of Commerce and ICC Italy.

He is a permanent member of the Advisory Group on Food Chain and Animal and Plant Health at the European Commission in Brussels. President of Camcom Universitas Mercatorum (since 2008) and Vice-President of the Italian Electronic Commodities Exchange (since 2000), he has delved into the themes related to his mandate in the essay Electronic Commerce and Agri-food sector, published in 2006.

He also sits on the board of several companies in the Parma area: Parma Airport (1995-2001); Parma Agri-Food Center (1997-2002); Cisa Motorway (since 2002); Consortium of Parmigiano Reggiano (2002-2012); ALMA, International School of Italian Cuisine (since 2006).

Passionate about the history of gastronomy and author of numerous publications on the history of food with a particular focus on the Farnese period, he is currently a professor of "History and Culture of Food" at the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Parma.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Experimental Station for the Food Canning Industry of Parma from 1993 to 2000, since June 2010 he has been President.
