Curriculum

Alessandra Bordoni, graduated in Medicine and Surgery, specialized in Food Science and PhD in Biochemistry, works at the University of Bologna (IT), where she teaches Human Nutrition in the Food Technologies degree courses. She is the head of the Nutrition unit at the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of Bologna (IT).

Her research activities are related to various topics in human nutrition and biochemistry of nutrition, and she has published about 120 papers in national and international journals. Alessandra Bordoni was a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Human Nutrition (SINU) from 2004 to 2009.

He is the Editor in Chief of the journal "Food and Nutrition Sciences", and a member of the editorial board of the journal "Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases". He participates in numerous national and international projects, and is the general coordinator of the PATHWAY-27 project, recently funded by the European Commission, which focuses on the study of bioactive components of foods also in relation to health claims.
