Within the prestigious WCC, (World Computer Congress), a conference within the conference dedicated to women and technologies, with a particular focus on research and innovation.

A focus that aimed to highlight women not only as technology users, but also as producers of it, in a new and creative way, with a distinctly feminine specificity.
An ambitious strategic objective that did not limit itself to a series of contributions and speeches "from above", but also proposed a broader and more articulated reflection, open especially to themes.

  • Women are not only users, but also producers of technologies
  • Research and Innovation

Focus of the conference - which relied on the presence and contributions of very high-quality level and testimonials from women leaders in the ICT sector at a global level, representing Research, Institutions, Industry - was to reverse the stereotypes still linked to the female approach to technology, develop new topics, establish preferential lines and direct interaction links, explore and discover the great possibilities of synergy with still unpredictable outcomes.
In this perspective, specific themes were selected, discussed and elaborated within sessions that saw the participation of the most qualified experts at a global level.

  • Art and Affective Computing ; Interaction and Dialogue in the Communities on the Web of the future, from products to services
  • Innovation in Businesses and Institutions, the effective use of ICT Technologies in the global economy.
  • Women and ICT in Europe

The conference, free entry with registration, was held in Italian and English, with simultaneous translation.

The conference was conceived and designed by Gianna Martinengo, President of the Women&Technologies Conference at IFIP WCC 2008, who has dedicated her life as a researcher and entrepreneur to the relationship between women and technology.
