"The registration in the National Single Register of the Third Sector, which occurred after a long and challenging process, is a source of great satisfaction for us, not only because we were among the first associations to obtain it among those of other third sector entities, in the section in which we are registered," declares Gianna Martinengo, founder and president. "The new name, alongside the revision of our statute, also gives us the opportunity to express the potential of Women&Tech more effectively." ® born with the aim of highlighting the specific contribution of women to development and progress in all economic-productive fields. Since its foundation in 1999, Women&Tech ® it has distinguished itself for promoting social innovation projects, contributing to the fight against gender discrimination, guiding young people towards the professions of the future, and today, even more so, providing a strategic lever to the most vulnerable subjects to acquire the new skills required by the introduction of new technologies.
The choice of Women&Tech ® Requesting registration with RUNTS officializes the logic of value and transparency that has always characterized initiatives developed for companies, institutions, and universities, carrying out projects of sustainability, inclusion, valorization of human capital, diversity, and much more. As ETS, the association will be able to continue promoting its civic and social utility purposes by supporting nationally relevant activities aimed at developing a culture of innovation and enhancing female leadership at all levels.
Among the goals of Women&Tech ® the further development of programs for boys and girls of all ages, starting from elementary school, to help them navigate through the professions of the future, to develop technical and transversal skills, and to discover, from a young age, a predisposition for STEAM subjects. In this context, the Young Ambassadors of Women&Tech. ® They are young women who, after graduating from university, offer their study experience and their unconventional paths related to future jobs to other young people, thus making an important contribution to society.
Following are the mentorship programs, which in the past two years have involved 70 mentors including managers, businesswomen, and professionals with relevant professional positions, who have supported as many mentees, women who, due to age or family issues, find themselves at a critical stage of their careers. The goal is to help them outline a new professional future, acquire new skills and competencies, thus increasing their empowerment.
