Who are the women awarded by the Jury of the international award The Technovisionary®

Milan, May 6, 2015 - Today, at the National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" in Milan, the event took place in the presence of representatives from the world of business, universities, public administration, personalities from the scientific world, and the media. Award ceremony of the Technovisionaries ® 2015

This special year sees the Jury of rewarding the women who have shown the greatest vision on the themes of food and nutrition, health, and sustainability, in line with the themes addressed by Expo Milano 2015. International Award "The Technovisionaries" ® "

The award ceremony, introduced by Fiorenzo Galli, General Director of the National Museum of Science and Technology and conducted by the journalist Laura La Posta, took place in the evocative Polene space of the Aeronaval Pavilion.

At Tecnovisionarie 2015, a canvas from the ANITA collection specially created for the Prize by Carlotta Todeschini will be donated. This collection is dedicated to women who have been able to combine "heart and invention" reaching prestigious milestones in service to others.

Here are the women awarded this year, with the reasons for the awards:

WomenHealth & EXPO
Claudia Sorlini

For having made a significant academic contribution and for coordinating European and national projects on environmental, agricultural, and bioenergy issues. For his commitment to international cooperation, with a master's degree and a research project on agriculture in arid areas and the supervision of the Faculty of Agriculture in Makeni (Sierra Leone), which he helped establish. He is the scientific director of a European project on Women and Science and president of the Scientific Committee for EXPO of the Municipality of Milan since 2012, as well as a member of the Steering Committee of the EU Scientific Programme for EXPO 2015 (of the European Parliament and Commission). For demonstrating, in each of these activities, great determination, initiative, propositional capacity, and always so much passion.

WomenSustainability for the environment
Daniela Aleggiani

For having been able to influence environmentally respectful behaviors through communication. The path has been pioneering, in a company like 3M that activated concrete programs 40 years ago: "we were talking about sustainability when the word did not exist yet." Sustainability requires coherence, constancy, and strength in internal culture, even before the outside of a company, only in this way environmental communication and social responsibility can create value.

Carlotta Sami

For the constant commitment to spreading correct and complete information on the issue of forced migration in Italy and around the world. For over fifteen years, he has worked in the field of international relations, rights, and humanitarian interventions. He is the head of the press office and spokesperson for Southern Europe of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and has demonstrated competence and professionalism in conducting the media debate on refugees with impartial, timely, and accurate information on topics often influenced by political beliefs and conveniences with the risk of distorted representation.

WomenSustainability for culture Annamaria Testa

Creator of "technovisionary" advertising campaigns ahead of her time, which have marked the history of communication, Annamaria Testa has been involved for years in projects that combine knowledge and access to knowledge. In 2003, she made pediatric first aid understandable with a video (updated in 2014) that saved numerous lives. In 2008, she launched Nuovo e Utile, a non-profit website for the dissemination of theories and practices of creativity. In February 2015, she promoted the #dilloinitaliano initiative aimed at reducing the use of English terms in the language of administration, business, and advertising. A woman who has combined undeniable personal success with ethical and social commitment.

Special Europe Award Catherine Ladousse

Catherine has always been very committed to promoting women in the workforce, especially in the high-tech sector, where she has been working for several years. She was a co-founder and is the president of the French network "Cercle InterElles", a network of women working in some of the major IT companies. At Lenovo, she contributed to the creation of the "Women in Lenovo Leadership" (WILL) program in 2007, and the Global Executive Program dedicated to accelerating the development of high-potential female leaders. In particular, she promotes young women working for Lenovo in Europe to enhance their experiences and leadership skills, in order to accelerate individual, team, and overall business results.

International Expo Women Global Forum Award Emma Bonino

An extraordinary, strong, courageous, and consistent woman. A woman who has held important institutional positions in Italy and abroad with great success, setting an example of commitment and political ability that make her one of the best representatives of Italy in the world. A fearless woman, faithful to her own ideas. With her courage, she personally engaged in every battle, facing difficulties, disappointments, and challenges without compromise and with a constructive spirit. A transparent, sincere woman who did not seek shortcuts. Honest in her commitment, she brought illuminating value to her own life and that of many others. A woman with great strength who always knew how to be herself. A life lesson for all of us.

Innovation projects dedicated to women

The award " is part of the schedule Expo Women Global Forum ( www.ewgf.eu ), a series of initiatives related to Expo 2015 focused on themes concerning innovation projects for the community promoted by women, and designed by Gianna Martinengo as an evolution of ( www.womentech.eu ). It will be present outside Expo , in various initiatives at the National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" and at the Civic Aquarium of Milan, within Expo at the Italy Pavilion and the Europe Pavilion. There are 59 women awarded from 2008 to 2015, also chosen among important personalities from the world of culture, research, business, and public administration.
