Via San Vittore 21 - Milano
In contemporary Europe, the relationship between women and technology has become increasingly complex, articulating along some contradictory lines. Indeed, considering the importance of technosciences in today's professional life, the lack of women employed steadily in technoscientific professions is an unresolved issue.
Certainly, there is no difference in academic performance between girls and boys. On the contrary, girls boast excellent results in all subjects, in their academic path, and at university. Nevertheless, few choose technoscientific studies. Even fewer are the women who embark on professional careers in these sectors, and only a minority reach professional positions comparable to men's.
Yet, women have not only shown to be attentive users of technologies, expressing wisdom and creativity in adapting them to their system of social relations and the need for sustainability, but also to be able to make an increasingly greater contribution to the creation of technologies and the introduction of innovation.
