PRESS RELEASE - 24.04.2012

The appointment with "Women&Technologies® 2008-2015" returns this year as well, the International Conference designed to enhance female talent in the fields of research, technological development, and innovation, with particular focus on the themes of interest of Expo 2015. The 2012 edition will take place on November 6 at the Conference Room of the Chamber of Commerce in Milan (Via Meravigli 9/B) and will be dedicated to the theme "e-Nutrition".

Born in 2007 from an idea of Gianna Martinengo, who has made the relationship between technologies and innovation one of the main themes of her professional life as a researcher and entrepreneur, it has achieved important milestones of consensus from personalities in the scientific, academic, political, institutional, and entrepreneurial world, for having been able to bring together major current topics within the framework of an annual event of attraction and success in the international scientific landscape.

The 2012 edition stands out from previous ones for being the opening conference of the three-year period dedicated to nutrition, a topic strongly linked to health, sustainability, and innovation, in correlation with the preparatory program towards "EXPO 2015".

The debate will focus on the application of science and technology in favor of conscious eating with particular attention to the female figure, always linked to the theme of nutrition. The goal is to provide a complete and accessible vision to the end consumer of the new frontiers of nutrition connected with prevention, protection, the development of sustainable agriculture, and transparency of information.
More than 400 women and men from the world of industry, academia, and public administration are expected to take part in this year's event.

As usual, an integral part of the conference will be the " The Technovisionaries® " 2012 award, which aims to highlight women capable of "inventing the future" by creating technologies, women who with their work have demonstrated the ability to combine creativity, innovation, and quality of life.
