Milan, September 5, 2017 - The International Technovisionary Award values female skills and is awarded every year to women who, in their professional activities, have demonstrated to possess vision, prioritizing social impact, transparency in behavior and ethics. They are the "Technovisionaries" in the fields of research, innovation, business, art, and culture. ®
Attributed over the years to 89 Italian and foreign women, the Award is promoted by Women&Tech - Association of Women and Technologies, founded by Gianna Martinengo, to enhance female talent in technology, innovation, and scientific research, to promote projects and actions aimed at combating stereotypes and gender discrimination, and to contribute to guiding young people towards future professions and sustainable entrepreneurial models.
"Creativity and Innovation: not just technologies, but thinking" is the title of the 11th edition of the Award, which, on the evening of September 13th in Pisa at the Arsenali Repubblicani, during the closing ceremony of the first International Robotics Festival , will be awarded to women who possess an innovative, sustainable, and ethical vision of their profession.
"A circle is closing -" precise Franca Melfi, director of the Multidisciplinary Robotic Surgery Center at the University Hospital of Pisa, president of the Jury of the Prize and Technovisionary 2011 in the category BioWomenTech - which actually only expands its scope. From here, in fact, we start again, to tell with even more force the solidarity, commitment, the desire to enhance female talent in all its personal and professional expressions."
During the 11th edition, hosted by RAI journalist and writer Vittoriana Abate and journalist Roberto Messina, the Technovisionaries will be awarded.
The Technovisionaries will receive a canvas from the ancient collection, specially created, and will be awarded by the members of the Prize Jury, qualified representatives of the thematic areas of the different competition categories, the world of culture and communication: Franco Mosca , emeritus professor at the University of Pisa; Paolo Dario , professor and director of the BioRobotics Institute at the Sant'Anna School in Pisa; Franca Melfi , Jury President and director of the Multidisciplinary Robotic Surgery Center at the University Hospital of Pisa; Gianna Martinengo , entrepreneur, founder of Women & Tech - Women and Technologies Association and creator of the Prize; Daniela Aleggiani , communication 3M Italy and general secretary of the 3M Foundation.
Together with them, also Stefania Saccardi, councilor for health rights, welfare, and socio-health integration of the Tuscany Region, and Hubert Stein, global clinical development director at Intuitive Surgical Inc.
Revelations of talent, ingenuity, genius, intelligence, creativity, resourcefulness, flair, imagination, intuition, inspiration, inventiveness.
It is women who invent the future.
