20 video interviews available for the entirely virtual edition of the event

This year too Women&Tech, an Association of Women and Technologies led by President and Founder Gianna Martinengo, actively participates in #STEMintheCity, the initiative promoted by the Municipality of Milan - in collaboration with important public and private sector entities and with the support of the United Nations - to "spread the culture of STEM, remove cultural stereotypes that distance girls from technical-scientific study paths."

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the April event with young people, the world of science, and the future has been completely digitized. Instead of events in schools, libraries, and community centers, educational content, video experiences, and on-demand resources will be published on the website for free.

The theme of the 2020 edition of #STEMintheCity is "Supporting the future", with particular reference to the Stem Generation.

Women&Tech, actively engaged in projects related to young people and new professions, has decided to contribute with what it has most precious, the example, by making available to users 20 video interviews realized with as many women who have built something important and significant in their professional field of reference. They are the "Women in Science", also featured on the eponymous portal ( www.womeninscience.it ), always curated by the Association, dedicated to some great women, especially Italian, who have distinguished themselves in the scientific and technological field, from antiquity to the present day.

In the 20 interviews proposed for #STEMintheCity, space is given to scientists, entrepreneurs, academics; women associated with Women&Tech, supporters, but also women who have received the prestigious International Technovisionary® Award.

"We believe – explains the President – that listening to the experience of these individuals, who have contributed and are contributing positively to changing the world, can be inspiring for young people. The video interviews are presented as a 'beacon' in the night, not only for the years following the post-Coronavirus era, but also for everyday life, starting today."

All the interviews, made available on the occasion of #STEMintheCity, will also be viewable on the Women in Science portal.
