Safer Internet Day is the European occasion to raise awareness among the public about the conscious and responsible use of the Internet. But what is the network today and what is it becoming? In recent years, there has been more and more talk about the Metaverse, multiverse, and new methods of interaction through rapidly evolving technological platforms. This new technological paradigm poses a challenge: the identification of greater protections for children and adolescents, placing their value and dignity at the center of the debate.
The event on February 6, 2023 will take place at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, which will host a debate on general issues concerning the future of children in the digital age and how children and adolescents are now active data providers.
Experts and academics will offer an overview of the digital world in economic, social, psychological, ethical, legal, and technological contexts. This cross-disciplinary discussion will be an important moment for delving into the complexity of the topic and evaluating to what extent the digital experience has a quantitative and qualitative impact on the lives of children and adolescents. In this session, the report that Telefono Azzurro has developed with Doxa Kids will also be presented, with the aim of shedding light on the various issues addressed with the children and their parents.
